A Change of My Life (Chit Su Khin)
I am Chit Su Khin from Manaung Township, Rakhine State of Myanmar. i had one older sister. I had a lot of challenges in my childhood due to the financial needs. Therefore, I lost focus on my education and kept going to school. My parents were not interested about my education because they had to work sunrise to dawn. When I was 10 years old, my father passed away and we moved to Yangon near our relatives. My mother raised me and my sister without husband as a widow. She is a super hero for us. When I was grade-6, my sister graduated. My mother and I were proud of her because she graduated in spite of many difficult times. And I passed matriculation exam in 2017 with the support of my mother, sister and relatives and I joined distance university. But I didn’t know what I should do for my life. I didn't know anything about the world. Almost a year, I lost my way way like any other young person in Myanmar. Before I took my first year exams, I got in touch with one of my cousin brother, Mr. Aung Myint Thu, working for youth development. I get some knowledge about the world and our Rakhine State.
After I took my first year exams, he invited me to help his online English class as a volunteers. While helping him, I gained a lot of experience and knowledge from him. Later, he sent me to Bridge for all, an English school in Kayin State. I met various ethnicities at the school. I have realized a little bit about our country and I become interested in ethnics. Besides, I have joined my brother school + Change Maker community school(Youth Development and English School). Then, I got to know more Rakhine youths from nine different townships who come from conflict areas of Rakhine state in this school. And I am learning about Marketing subject and Japanese language more in this school. This school inspires me to study more and help my community. And I realized what I am interested in business. I have seen the way of my future.
Now I am learning about business. Everyone think that business people are like crony. What their thinking is not wrong, some of business people are selfish and they never look back to their community. But not at all, some of business people are doing business and helping the world. But it is just a few. I want to be a professional business woman who can help the world. About 45% of the middle aged from my state are working in foreign countries because of the scarcity of jobs. Mostly are working illegally and difficulty to support their families. So that nowI am trying to go social and business. That is why the last two years have been a turning point in my life.
